What is NAD+? The Tiny Molecule That Keeps You Alive (And Why Almost Nobody Has Heard of It)

What if I told you that every one of the 37 trillion cells in your body runs on a tiny molecule you've probably never heard of?

It's called NAD+.

Most Americans couldn't tell you what it is. Yet without it...

  • your heart couldn't beat.

  • Your brain couldn't think.

  • Your muscles couldn't move.

  • Your skin couldn't repair itself.

In fact, if your cells didn't have NAD+, life would stop in seconds.

So why isn't anyone talking about it?

Infographic of a cell and mitochondrion, with labels FOOD YOU EAT, NAD+, ENERGY, and REPAIR & PROTECT explaining energy production.

Imagine your body is a city.

Every house... every business... every school... every hospital... needs electricity.

Without power nothing works. Your cells are exactly the same. Every one of them needs energy every second of every day.

That energy comes from tiny "power plants" inside your cells called mitochondria.

But those power plants need something to turn food into usable energy.

That "something" is NAD+.

Think of NAD+ as the electrical current that keeps every cellular power plant running.

Without it the lights slowly begin going out.

What Does NAD+ Actually Do? NAD+ helps your cells:

✓ Turn food into energy

✓ Repair damaged DNA

✓ Support healthy brain function

✓ Fuel your muscles

✓ Keep your heart working efficiently

✓ Help your body recover from everyday wear and tear

Scientists call it a coenzyme.

I call it the spark plug for your cells.

Here's the Problem. We make lots of NAD+ when we're young. Children have plenty. Teenagers have lots. Young adults still have healthy amounts. But beginning in adulthood our natural NAD+ levels begin falling.

Chart shows NAD+ levels declining with age, from 100% at birth to 10% at 80+; headline says NAD+ naturally declines as we age.

Year after year. Decade after decade. Imagine trying to power your entire home while someone keeps reducing the electricity. Eventually things still work just not as well.

That's why declining cellular energy is believed to be one reason people often notice:

• Less energy

• Slower recovery

• Less endurance

• Skin changes

• Reduced resilience

• Feeling "older"

Why Are Scientists Suddenly So Excited?

For decades scientists believed aging simply happened. Now researchers are discovering that many parts of aging happen inside the cell. Instead of only treating symptoms researchers are asking: "What if we could help cells function more like younger cells?"

That question has led to thousands of studies on NAD+.

Today NAD+ is one of the hottest areas of longevity research in the world.

Coming Next...

Now that you know what NAD+ is there's another question.

Can you simply take NAD+?

Or is there a better way?

^As measured by increases in VO2 max, the leading indicator of all-cause mortality and healthy active years. VO2 max naturally declines with age, by roughly 0.3 to 0.5 mL/(kg·min) per year. In a two-month study, Vivix+ increased VO2 max by 2.6 to 3.8 mL/(kg·min) compared to baseline, depending on the calculation method used. That's equivalent to reversing 6.5 to 9.5 years of typical age-related decline, or 8 years, on average.

In a pilot study conducted with Shaklee Ambassadors, in collaboration with Shaklee Corporation's Medical and Scientific Affairs departments, 27 participants took Vivix+ for 30 days in Jun-July 2026.
